Are you interested in a combi boiler from the Worcester Bosch Greenstar CDi Compact combirange?
The Greenstar CDi compact is the latest addition to Worcester Bosch’s bestselling Greenstar CDi range, and it’s just the thing if your home doesn’t have a great deal of space!
But with three different models to choose from, how can you tell which one is for you?
It’s a question I’m used to helping my customers answer, but with minimal resources online, I know it’s not easy deciphering which output and flow rate is ideal for your home.
That’s why I thought I’d do all the hard work for you and write an overview of the entire range – including the type of home each model is best suited to!
Introduction
The Worcester Bosch CDi range got its popularity due to offering a great range of fantastic flow rates for medium to large homes that needed the extra oomph, and the compact range is no different. So, if you’re looking for a compact combi that can still deliver great flow rates to your taps, this could be it!
All the boilers in this range can easily fit in a standard-sized kitchen cupboard or Edinburgh press, and come with some excellent advanced features, too – just what you’d expect from a premium brand such as Worcester Bosch (it’s no secret they’ve been voted Which ‘Best Buy’ for six years running).
Output and flow rate
Firstly, let’s take a look at the output and flow rates on offer from the CDi compact range:
- Greenstar 28CDi compact: This boiler provides an output of 24kw to the heating and 28kw to the hot water at 11.4 litres of hot water per minute (35 degrees Celsius)
- Greenstar 32CDi compact: This boiler will give you an output of 24kw to the heating and 32kw to the hot water at 13.1 litres of hot water per minute (35 degrees Celsius)
- Greenstar 36CDi compact: This boiler supplies an output of 24kw to the heating and 36kw to the hot water at 14.7 litres of hot water per minute (35 degrees Celsius)
Size and special features
Measuring in at just 690mm x 390mm x 280mm, the CDi compact range lives up to its name and is small enough to comfortably fit inside a standard kitchen cupboard or Edinburgh press cupboard – great if space is a premium in your home!
Despite these boilers being compact, the controls and key components are positioned in such a way that they’re still easy to work on, which is why they get the engineers’ vote!
Guarantee
Another good thing about the CDi compact range is that these handy, no-nonsense boilers come with Worcester Bosch’s brilliant 10-year no-quibble guarantee (when fitted along with the brand’s own filter and controls, by an accredited installer) – so you’ll be covered just in case anything goes wrong.
The brand also has dedicated engineers to attend call-outs, so you know your compact combi will be in good hands!
TIP: All Worcester Bosch’s guarantees are subject to the boiler being serviced annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
Ideal for
Time to get down to the nitty gritty, and find out which CDi compact boiler (if any) is best suited to your home!
- Greenstar 28CDi compact: Best suited to a typical three-bedroom home with around 5 – 9 radiators and a bath and shower (although the bath may be slightly slower to fill).
- Greenstar 32CDi compact: This boiler is perfect for a typical three-bedroom home with around 5 – 9 radiators and a bath and shower (will have no trouble running both, but not at the same time)
- Greenstar 36CDi compact: Ideal for a typical three-bedroom home with around 5 – 9 radiators and a deep bath and high pressure shower
TIP: Please note this is a rough guide, and you should always ask your chosen engineer to measure the needs of your individual home to be 100% sure you’re making the right decision.
ERP rating
The ERP rating for all boilers in the CDi range is A, as they provide maximum energy efficiency and reduced carbon emissions.
Conclusion
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading, and perhaps I’ve even helped you decide which of these boilers is probably best suited to your home! However, it’s worth bearing in mind that no two properties are exactly alike, and it will really come down to measuring your home’s heat loss and usage before fitting a new boiler.
