If you’re thinking about buying a new Ideal combi boiler, you’re probably going to want to know which come the most highly recommended. As an Edinburgh engineer, I’ve sold quite a few in my time, but it really depends on which type of house you have.
Below, I’m going to tell you a bit more about the most popular Ideal combi boilers, and what makes them such a great choice.
Which are the most popular Ideal combi boilers?
By far, the most popular combi boiler we sell is the Logic+ 30C combi. This is simply because they fit the most average-sized flats and houses, and they come with an extra five year’s guarantee over the Ideal Logic’s 2-year guarantee. (An accredited installer can even offer you a 10-year guarantee, which is great value for money!)
However, to be a bit more helpful, let’s look at which Ideal boilers are best for three different scenarios.
- A small flat or property – Ideal Logic+ 24C
- An average-sized family home – Ideal Logic+ 30C or 35C (depending on the flow rate you need)
- A large home – Ideal Vogue 32 or 40
Remember, these may be the most popular Ideal combis, but you should always get an engineer to measure your home’s heat loss and required flow rates before choosing the right boiler for you. This is because every home is different, and I’d hate for you to pay for anything that’s not quite the right fit. A reputable engineer should be able to advise you further.
Advice from an experienced heating engineer
I always advise homeowners to practice due diligence, and thoroughly do their homework before buying the right boiler for them. Unsure about the size of boiler you need? Your chosen engineer should be able to advise you.
Many of my customers choose the Ideal Logic+ over the Worcester Bosch equivalent. This is because they come in at around £200 – £300 cheaper, with a longer guarantee. Always go for the most value you can get, and check your accredited engineer is able to offer you a 10-year guarantee.
And remember, although I’m writing this today, the marketplace is always changing. There will be better offerings to come along, as new models are released.
