Are you looking to learn more about Ideal boiler prices?

If you’re in the market for a new Ideal boiler, you could be onto a winner! Ideal is a great British brand that’s currently offering fantastic value for money.

However, looking at prices online can make you feel a bit like you’ve stumbled down a rabbit hole. Don’t worry, they will vary, and for good reason.

Having installed and serviced many Ideal boilers over the years, I wanted to write a blog post to help give a better idea of Ideal boiler prices and how much you can probably expect to pay.

Ideal boiler prices explained

Currently, Ideal are pitching almost the same pricing as Baxi, at around £200 – £300 cheaper than Worcester Bosch. They are using the same tactic of offering slightly higher outputs and guarantees, for slightly less. Bearing in mind, these are not budget boilers, so you’re getting a great deal all-round.

More and more of my customers are now opting for these great value deals, as it means they have money left in the bank to purchase smart controls – or just to keep for the next rainy day!

On average, you can expect to pay roughly between £2,300 – £2,400 for an Ideal boiler, supplied and fitted. That’s when fitted with a standard horizontal flue through the wall and magnetic central heating filter, using existing pipework for the gas, and a drain for the condensate located 3 metres away from the boiler.

What can affect Ideal boiler prices?

Just like most big purchases, trying to predict the overall price of a new Ideal boiler can be tricky. How long is a piece of string?

The final cost you’ll pay will depend on factors such as:

  • If you need an Ideal combi, regular or system boiler
  • The specification/output of boiler you need to properly heat your home
  • Whether or not you need a direct swap or have to move the boiler to a new location
  • If you need to upgrade your pipework or fit a new condensate
  • The type of smart controls or thermostat you decide on

Not to mention whether or not you’ll have to replace your sealed or tiled flooring! You may even want to invest in some new radiators.

Seems like a lot to consider, doesn’t it? But fear not – help is at hand! Your chosen Gas Safe registered engineer should be able to advise you on a lot of the things above.

Advice from an experienced engineer

Remember, value doesn’t necessary mean going for the cheapest option. An standard Ideal Logic may be £70 cheaper than a Logic+, but the 5 – 8 year’s difference in guarantee means you’re getting the most out of your money. (Always check whether your accredited installer can offer you a full 10-year guarantee with an Ideal Logic+)

I’d also recommend opting for the option with the higher flow rate, if you’re in any doubt between the two. There’s usually not much difference in price, and it ensures you’re getting the best flow rate for your home. Your engineer should be able to advise you on the outputs you need, as there’s no point over-specifying, either.

For instance, we recently visited a customer in Cramond who had an old Worcester Bosch 28cdi. However, when she looked at the flow rate of the newer equivalent, she decided she wanted better. We showed her the prices for the 34cdi and 36cdi, however they were a bit on the pricey side.

The lady was an architect, knew the specifications she wanted, and had read good reports on Ideal. We were able to offer her a 35kW Ideal boiler with smart controls for the same price as the Worcester 30i. She was over the moon, and compared to her old 28cdi she had 7kW more to her hot water, giving her far better flow rates to her bath and shower.

It really worked out value-wise, and she also got a 10-year guarantee so she’d be covered if anything went wrong.

Conclusion

I hope you’ve found this blog helpful when looking at Ideal boiler prices. Remember, there’s so much to consider when choosing a new boiler, so the best thing to do is ask advice from a reputable heating engineer. And always go for the most value you can afford!
