Are you curious about what you can expect from Ideal boiler guarantees?

If you’re anything like most of my customers, you’ll want to know you’re getting a good deal from your investment. It just so happens that one of my most important things to think about when buying a new boiler, is the guarantee.

Ideal are currently offering some great value deals for customers, but some may be better than others.

As an experienced engineer, I’m going to tell you all you need to know about Ideal boiler guarantees, below.

Ideal boiler guarantees explained

Just like most boiler manufacturers, the guarantees you receive on a new Ideal boiler will range from 2 – 10 years.

You can check the Ideal website to see the length of guarantee you can get with your chosen boiler. However, an accredited engineer may be able to offer you a longer guarantee (more about that below).

These guarantees are:

  • No-quibble – You won’t ever have to worry about the small print, or credit card charges for call-outs
  • 100% transferable – So if you move house, it can be transfered to the new owner
  • Non-dependent on filters or controls – You don’t have to fit Ideal’s own filters or controls to get the full length

Another great thing about Ideal guarantees is that when it comes to aftercare, the company provide dedicated engineers for call-outs. This means no sub-contractors, and ensures you’re getting the best possible aftercare for your new Ideal boiler.

Get longer guarantees with an accredited installer

For some Ideal boilers, like the Ideal Logic+ combi (the most popular Ideal boiler we sell), an accredited installer might be able to offer you a longer guarantee. This is because Ideal work on a points system with their accredited installers.

Some installers may choose to keep the points for themselves, whereas others (like us) choose to offer their customers 10-year guarantees instead of the standard 7 years.

So, if you decide to buy an Ideal boiler through an accredited installer (recommended), always check first whether they can offer you a longer guarantee. It never hurts to make sure!

Advice from an experienced engineer

Personally, I don’t think anyone should settle for a 2-year guarantee these days. Always ensure you’re getting a decent guarantee, and don’t forget to get your boiler serviced annually. If you don’t, then your boiler will fall out of warranty, and you may have to pay for expensive repairs later down the line.

TIP: Your boiler should always be serviced by a Gas Safe registered engineer.

I know that when you buy a new boiler, you don’t expect it to break down. However, getting your boiler serviced annually is important to keep things running smoothly. More and more of my clients are now deciding to take out a monthly service payment plan. It involves simply paying a monthly fee to spread out the cost of your annual service over the year.

Paying for your service monthly means there’s less to worry about, and it also puts the responsibility of arranging your annual onto us. So, forgetting to get your boiler serviced on time could become a thing of the past!

Conclusion

I hope this blog has helped you learn more about Ideal boiler guarantees. Remember, it’s always wise to check whether your installer is a) accredited and b) can offer you a full 10-year guarantee.
