Wondering what’s the deal with Worcester Bosch Greenstore cylinders?
More people than ever are now waking up to the fact that an unvented cylinder combined with a system boiler could bring them incredible flow rates, and potentially unlimited hot water. So, as long as you have adequate water pressure, you’d never have to worry about running out ever again!
So, if you’ve been thinking about doing the same, you’ve probably heard of Worcester Bosch Greenstore cylinders when doing your research. As a premium brand, Worcester Bosch provide some of the most reliable unvented cylinders on the market, with great package deals and a nice long guarantee to back it up.
So, without further ado, I’m going to tell you all you need to know about Worcester Bosch Greenstore cylinders.
They’re super reliable
Just like Worcester Bosch boilers, these Greenstore cylinders are built to last. In my experience they’re very reliable, easy to fit and come pre-plumbed. Also, just to back that up, they come with a great guarantee. (But more about that below)
They come in a wide range of capacities
Worcester Bosch know their customers, and that’s reflected in the wide range of capacities demonstrated in their Greenstore product range.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Greenstore SC-90: 93 litres
- Greenstore SC-120: 123 litres
- Greenstore SC-150: 161 litres
- Greenstore SC-180: 191 litres
- Greenstore SC-210: 216 litres
- Greenstore SC-250: 246 litres
- Greenstore SC-300: 292 litres
if you’ve been researching unvented cylinders, you might already have an idea of the capacity you need. Feeling unsure? Then your chosen engineer should be able to help you determine which of the above cylinders is right for your home.
They’re guaranteed for 25 years
That’s a long time. However, most manufacturers don’t tell you this bit: the guarantee is not on the cylinder, but on the pressure vessel. This is the same with every brand, so not just limited to Worcester Bosch. It’s a bit like when older makes of boiler were on sale and the guarantee only covered the heat exchanger.
They have a solar cylinder range
This is a great option to have. I’ve actually come across a few people who have specifically asked to fit a solar cylinder just in case they put solar panels in their roof in future. It’s only around £100 difference in price, so you’d just as well having the extra coil in it.
They cost a little more than other brands
Cost-wise, Worcester Bosch Greenstore cylinders are around 10 – 15% more expensive than other brands. However, this is the same as the brand’s other products. You’re paying for the amazing reputation, peace of mind and extra guarantee when buying with a new boiler, filter and controls.
They have great package deals
Extra guarantee, you say? That’s right! If you buy a Worcester Bosch system boiler, with filter, controls and cylinder, you can take advantage of a fantastic 10-year no-quibble guarantee that covers your boiler, filter and controls.

Advice from an experienced engineer
These cylinders can, of course, be fitted with any brand of boiler. However, if you have a Worcester Bosch boiler, and you like the brand, plus the idea of having the Worcester Bosch boiler combined with the cylinder and integral diverter valve, then that’s the way to do it. It’s one of the most efficient systems you can have.
Just make sure you get the right size for your house. Lots of people buy cylinders that are too big, and this is simply wasteful. It means your cylinder is constantly refilling with cold water. Ensure your engineer understands your needs, and don’t buy a cylinder that’s too big for you,
I’ve previously fitted a Worcester Bosch system boiler for a customer, complete with a 300-litre cylinder. She had 4 or 5 bathrooms, and how fast the water heated up was very important to her, as she had five kids! It meant she could do bath times, and run two or three baths off within an hour.
It meant high pressure, a brilliant recovery rate, and her house was still lovely and warm at the same time.
Conclusion
I hope this blog has helped shed some more light on Worcester Bosch Greenstore cylinders. Unvented cylinders like these can be fantastic when combined with system boilers. Imagine having practically unlimited hot water! It’s why more and more of our customers are choosing this option over combi boilers.
Just ensure you don’t buy one that’s too big for your house. If in doubt, your heating engineer can help you out!
