Are you thinking about investing in the Worcester Bosch Wave system for your home?
These days, everyone’s doing their best to become more energy efficient, not only to save the planet, but also because no-one likes bumped up heating bills!
Worcester Bosch’s solution is to give you complete control over your home’s energy usage with their Wave system; a programmable device that lets you access your home’s heating and hot water controls from anywhere in the world – via your smart phone or tablet.
However, here are plenty of other brands out there offering wireless programmable heating controls and devices that let you do the same thing, so you’ve probably got a big decision to make.
Below, we’re going to take a closer look at the Worcester Bosch Wave system, including some of its key features and benefits.
Increased Efficiency
It’s no secret that having full control over your home’s heating and hot water will inevitably allow you to save money on your bills, but with weather and load compensation, plus detailed charts allowing you to see your full energy usage, the Wave goes so much further.
You can even see when you’re saving energy when a handy leaf symbol comes up on your screen, which is an extra incentive to keep your room temperatures in-check. In fact, according to the ERP directive, smart controls like the Wave can improve your system’s efficiency by around 4%.
Easy integration
This device, like Worcester Bosch’s other programmable controls before it, is oh-so easy to install. All you have to do is connect the Wave receiver unit to the boiler via a simple 2-wire connection, then set up your heating and hot water settings and times via the user-intuitive dashboard.
And that’s it – you’re pretty much all set to go! The touch screen control unit essentially has an ongoing “intelligent conversation”with your boiler via the receiver unit, using your WiFi connection. Welcome to the 21st century!
Internet/WiFi controlled
One of the biggest selling points of the Wave system is that you can control your home’s heating via WiFi by accessing the easy-to-use app which has been developed for use with Apple and Android smartphones and tablets.
There’s also no need to worry if you temporarily lose your internet connection, as the Wave continues to work intelligently alongside your boiler via your last saved programme settings. So think of it as wireless programmable controls – plus so much more besides!

Below are all the boilers the Worcester Bosch Wave is fully compatible with (via the official website):

Unfortunately, the Wave is not currently compatible with Worcester Bosch’s regular boiler range.
User-friendly
With the Wave, it’s easy to see that usability was top on Worcester Bosch’s agenda. It comes with a touch screen, intuitive dashboard and easy-to-understand controls and settings, so everything you need is literally at your fingertips!
Plus, the mobile app makes it so incredibly easy to adjust your home’s heating while out and about, so you’ve got no excuses. In fact, it can pair with up to eight devices, and even goes one step further with a holiday mode – so you don’t even have to think about changing your settings while abroad.
Weather and load compensation
The Wave comes with some great weather compensating technology that is able to monitor the weather outside and adjust your home’s usage *inside* – even better, you don’t even need a weather compensator as part of the package!
This helps ensure your home will never be using more energy than it needs, leading to even more savings.
Great guarantees
According to Worcester Bosch, the Wave system comes with a 2-year guarantee, however if you were to install it along with a new boiler (at the same time), it will also carry the same guarantee as your boiler – which is potentially a great deal of up to 10 years!
Worcester Bosch is a company well-known for its no-quibble guarantees, so you’ll have peace of mind that your Wave system will be covered in the event that anything does happen to go wrong.
One-off cost (no additional fees)
Currently, you can expect to pay around £220 for the Worcester Bosch Wave system alone (that doesn’t include installation costs, which can make it around £280). But the good news is that it’s a one-off fee, with no subscription charges or extras to pay later on.
Conclusion
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about the Worcester Bosch Wave system – just imagine, full control of your central heating at hot water at your fingertips! It will definitely help you save up the pennies for a rainy day, especially if you also plan to invest in a new energy efficient Worcester Bosch boiler.
