Review-_Why_the_Worcester_Bosch_Greenstar_29cdi_Classic_Leads_the_Way.jpg

Do you need a new combi boiler for your spacious Edinburgh property?

In that case, you may already be looking at the Worcester Bosch Greenstar 29cdi classic, which features some of the best in future proof technology, advanced features and a very decent flow rate.

However, just to be sure, I’ve done all the hard work for you by reviewing it in full below! (Well, I do love using my 20+ years’ experience fitting and servicing boilers to help people make the best decision for their homes).

Read on to find out if the 29cdi could be your next combi boiler!

Introduction

The Worcester Bosch Greenstar 29cdi classic is a wall-hung combi boiler that really packs a punch, and is popular for those with one to three-bedroom homeswith high ceilings and plenty of space.

However, I’m sad to say, I see a lot of these boilers being fitted in the wrong homes – due to the fact that many engineers simply fail to do their homework beforehand, and over-specify what homeowners actually need.

Let me explain more below…

Output and flow rate

Because the 29cdi classic has a whopping 30kw output to the heating, it’s suited to small to medium-sized properties that have high ceilings and plenty of space (I’d say between one to three bedrooms). This boiler can typically heat 10 – 14 radiators.

However, I’d get an engineer to measure your heat loss first to check you’re definitely choosing the right boiler, as you might find you’ll be better off with the 28cdi compact, instead – the only real difference between the two is the slightly smaller heating output, plus, it’s also slightly cheaper.

The 29cdi compact also has a hot water output of 30kw, and provides a 12.3 litres of hot water per minute to your taps – which is more than enough to fill a bath or run a high pressure shower.

Size and special features

The Worcester Bosch Greenstar 29cdi is a wall-mounted boiler that will not fit in your kitchen cupboard or Edinburgh press, but instead will look at home on your kitchen wall or located in a larger storage cupboard. Its measurements are: 760 x 440 x 360.

This boiler comes with a large siphon inside as standard, which works to completely eliminate the risk of your condensate pipe freezing – so hopefully no unexpected error codes on frostier mornings!

Guarantee

I’m really happy to tell you that the 29cdi comes with Worcester Bosch’s fantastic 10-year no-quibble guarantee when fitted by an accredited installer – and installed with the brand’s own filter and controls.

This is a market-leading guarantee and one of the best available, with no added small print or credit card charges for call-outs – unlike some other manufacturers. Plus, Worcester Bosch has its own dedicated engineers ready to attend call-outs if anything does go wrong with your new boiler.

TIP: Just remember that your 10-year guarantee will only remain valid as long as your boiler is serviced annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
