Are you thinking about investing in a compact combi boiler from the Worcester Bosch Greenstar Si range?
The Greenstar 25Si and 30Si compact models are perfect if you don’t have a lot of space, and need your new combi boiler to fit in a standard-sized kitchen cupboard or Edinburgh press.
But how do you tell which model is right for your home?
That’s a very good question, but don’t worry, as I’ve used my experiences with these boilers over the years to shed a bit more light on the subject, and come up with a full overview of the range below.
So, read on to find out which Worcester Bosch Greenstar Si compact combi might be the best fit for your needs.
Introduction
I’ve mentioned before on my blog that these are one of my absolute favourite models from Worcester Bosch, as they’re so compact they can fit just about anywhere – plus, they’re also very easy to install.
Cheaper than the brand’s cdi range, the Si boilers still provide incredible, lasting quality and also come with a fantastic guarantee (more about that below).
As a brand, Worcester Bosch has an unbeatable reputation for providing quality, long-lasting premium boilers, and have also won Which’s ‘Best Buy’ six years running, as voted by consumers and engineers alike – now that’s impressive!.
So, to help you decide which boiler from the Si range is right for you, I’ve detailed all the relevant specifications for each boiler below.
Central heating outputs
First, let’s take a look at the central heating and hot water outputs you can expect from each model, along with the flow rates:
Greenstar 25Si: This boiler supplies 24 kw to the heating and 25 kw to the hot water at 10.2 litres of hot water per minute (35 degrees Celsius)
Greenstar 30Si: This boiler provides 24 kw to the heating and 30 kw to the hot water at 12.3 litres per minute (35 degrees Celsius)
Size and special features
Measuring in at 690 mm x 390 mm x 280 mm, both of these models are a fantastic, compact size, which makes them ideal for fitting in your standard-sized kitchen cupboard or Edinburgh press cupboard.
TIP: If you don’t absolutely need a compact combi boiler, I’d recommend opting for the Greenstar 25i or 30i instead.
The Si range can also be fitted with Worcester Bosch’s integral filling loop, which means the boiler is kept flush at the bottom of the cupboard.
Guarantee
I’m happy to tell you that the Greenstar Si range of compact combis comes with an amazing no quibble 9-year boiler guarantee from Worcester Bosch – as long as you fit them with the brand’s own filter and controls.
Worcester Bosch also has its own dedicated engineers to attend to call-outs if any problems do occur – so you’ll always know your boiler is in trusted hands!
TIP: All Worcester Bosch guarantees are subject to the boiler being serviced every year by a Gas Registered engineer – otherwise the warranty will expire.
Ideal for
Ah, the most important part! This is where I can give you a rough idea of which model is best suited to your home.
Greenstar 25Si: Best suited to small to medium-sized properties with 4 – 8 radiators and one shower room (slow to fill a bath)
Greenstar 30Si: Ideal for small to medium-sized properties with 4 – 8 radiators, a shower and a bath
TIP: Remember, this is just a rough guide, so always get your chosen engineer to measure your home’s heat loss and water usage to ensure you’re getting the right output to suit your specific needs.
ERP rating
Both boilers in the highly efficient Si range come with an ERP rating of A.
Conclusion
I hope you’ve found this review useful when considering a boiler from the Worcester Bosch Greenstar Si range, but you can always check out my blog for more Worcester Bosch reviews – including an in-depth comparison of both Si models.
