Goodbye_Baxi_Solo_Introducing_the_New_Baxi_EcoBlue_Heat.jpg

Baxi have recently said goodbye to the best-selling Baxi Solo boiler, and replaced it with the brand new Baxi EcoBlue Heat and EcoBlue Heat Advance!

Over the years as an experienced heating engineer, I came to rely on this heat-only regular boiler, as it was super reliable and very long lasting – perfect for customers who wanted great value for money.

And if things ever did go wrong due to normal age-related wear and tear, parts were always available as all Baxi models were (and still are!) made here in Britain – they were also reasonably priced compared to foreign parts.

Below, I’m going to tell you the reason for the Solo’s replacement, and just what you can expect from the new Baxi EcoBlue Heat and Advance Heat ranges!

Saying goodbye to the Baxi Solo

The Baxi Solo, as I mentioned above, was a regular heat-only boiler. This meant it would happily connect to your pump, valves, radiators and indirect hot water tank.

The Solo was manufactured for many years as a standard efficiency boiler, before Baxi then introduced a HE (high efficiency) model. However, with the ongoing advancement of technology, there had to be a point where a new boiler was designed from scratch.

But because the Baxi Solo and other models were so reliable and long-lasting, and they were installed in many homes over the years, I’m now seeing a lot of brand loyalty to Baxi – with many customers now in the market for a new Baxi replacement.

And Baxi are here to provide exactly what they need! Hence, you now have the Baxi EcoBlue Heat and the EcoBlue Advance Heat to choose from.

The EcoBlue Heat and EcoBlue Advance Heat

The Baxi EcoBlue heat and Advance heat make the perfect replacements to your old regular boiler, with no pump overrun to worry about. Below, I’m going to talk you through some of their main features:

Outputs

With outputs of 12kW, 15kW, 18kW, 21kW and 24kW, there is an EcoBlue Heat boiler to suit the needs of most properties.

As for the EcoBlue Heat Advance, it comes in outputs of 13kW, 16kW, 19kW, 25kW and 30kW– so it’s a slightly higher spec than the EcoBlue Heat.

Warranty

The main difference between the EcoBlue Heat and Heat Advance is the warranty. While the EcoBlue Heat only comes with a 2-year guarantee as standard (as long as it’s serviced annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer), the EcoBlue Heat Advance comes with Baxi’s 7-year no quibble guarantee.

Size and weight

Both EcoBlue Heat ranges come in at 625mm high x 370mm wide x 270mm deep, which makes them a great compact size to fit into a standard kitchen cupboard – ideal for making the most of the available space in your home! Plus, both weigh just under 20kg, making them the lightest in the UK!

ERP rating

The EcoBlue Heat and EcoBlue Advance are both ERP A-rated boilers, with an efficiency of 89% – so you could potentially see a different in your heating bills if upgrading from a much older model!

TIP: And because parts are made in the UK, they are readily available, with Baxi’s own dedicated engineers around to fit them.

Conclusion

With a heavy heart, it’s time to say goodbye to the old, reliable Baxi Solo boilers – and hello to the new Baxi EcoBlue Heat and EcoBlue Advance Heat range! These are pretty much heat-only direct replacements, and are perfect for replacing your home’s old regular boiler.

The main difference between the EcoBlue Heat and EcoBlue Advance Heat is the guarantee (2 years vs 7), and the EcoBlue Heat Advance’s slightly higher spec, but between both models, there’s an output to suit every home.

Both models are also compact, which is ideal for fitting in a standard kitchen cupboard – and because they are both brand new to the market, the EcoBlue Heat and EcoBlue Advance Heat are both incredibly energy efficient, with an ERP rating of A.

What do you think of the Baxi Solo’s new replacements?
