Absolute junk, the amount of trouble I have had with this boiler over the years would drive anyone to tears, the replacement parts alone would have bought me a new boiler already, the boiler is around 6 years old now. Forget Vaillant as their support is junk too, never return calls or emails. Have a look on youtube and trustpilot about Vaillant and see how bad their products are.
Have major problem with Ecotec plus937 and Vaillant. Water pressure in the boiler drops over time, even without leaks. Repressiring is via a mains loop beneath the boiler (that is if you are smart enough to bypass or avoid buying the built-in taps, which leak – see Mark Ray video and further criticisms). Our tenant, under telephone instruction has just opened the two valves of the loop, but left them open too long (probably because she was head down concentrating on the taps rather than the gauge. The pressure rises in seconds- to 3.5.
This must be a common occurrence, but Vaillant has no bleed valve on the boiler itself. All web advice is bleed a radiator- we have underfloor heating, no rads! Vaillant advice centre Germany charges E2 per minute- and does not recognise the Ecotecplus 937!!!
0870 6060 777 in UK, supposedly Vaillant support, is on endless loop answer phone. So, totally unhappy with Vaillant.
PS would the following safely release pressure? Keep one valve of the loop closed. Open 2nd at boiler and slack off nut. Would water then release down, or is it a one-way, in-only valve beyond the loop valve ie in the boiler itself?
