Are you thinking about buying a new Ideal boiler for your home?
Ideal have really upped their game recently, and they’re now offering better value and guarantees than ever before. Along with Baxi, they’ve actually gained the highest growth in 2016, so definitely a brand to watch out for! As an experienced engineer, I’m very impressed with the boilers and high outputs Ideal are now offering to customers.
Many of my customers these days aren’t too fussed about a particular brand; they just want good value for money. So, with Ideal’s extra 3 years’ guarantee, and a few hundred pounds’ saving, they can choose to spend a bit extra on smart controls – or just keep the money in the bank for a rainy day!
Still on the fence about whether to buy a new Ideal boiler? I’m going to tell you some of the most compelling reasons below, so you can make an informed decision:
1. A well-established British brand
Ideal boilers have been around for many, many years. All of their boilers are manufactured here in the UK, so parts are readily available and aren’t expensive to get hold of. You may have had an old Ideal boiler in your house, or remember them from growing up.
The good news is, Ideal are still going strong today, with a fantastic promise to their customers.
2. A long, no-quibble guarantee
Ideal are now offering some great guarantees on their boilers. Their premium boiler, the Vogue, comes with a 10-year guarantee – and you can get up to a 10-year guarantee on the Logic+ (if you find the right accredited installer).
These guarantees are no-quibble, although just like any boiler, you’ll need to get it serviced annually for your guarantee to stay valid.
3. Great value for money
On average, Ideal boilers come in at around £240 – £300 cheaper than Worcester Bosch. They’re also very similar to Baxi in that you tend to get more value for your money. So, slightly higher outputs, longer guarantees and more affordable prices, to boot!
TIP: You can also get a 10-year guarantee without having to fit the brand’s own filter and controls – unlike Worcester Bosch.
4. Accredited installers
If you’re looking to purchase a new Ideal boiler, you’re better off with an accredited installer. This means they’ve gone through specific training, and are fully competent with the brand. It also means they can potentially offer you longer guarantees!
TIP: The Logic+ comes with a 7-year guarantee as standard, but some accredited installers can offer 10 years!
5. Dedicated engineers for call-outs
In the unfortunate event your new Ideal boiler needs a repair under warranty, the good news is that the brand offer dedicated engineers! This is unlike some brands, who often use sub-contractors for the job. Dedicated engineers mean only the best quality aftercare for your boiler – and they even have a 97% fix rate on the first visit!
6. Higher heating outputs
The most notable thing about the Vogue premium combi boiler, is that it gives you one of the highest central heating outputs on the market. Most combis only offer 30kW, but with an extra 2kW you’ll get that extra bit of heat for another couple of radiators.
Pretty impressive, eh?
Advice from an experienced engineer
If you’re considering buying a new Ideal boiler, always do your homework. Check your chosen engineer is experienced in fitting Ideal boilers (they should preferably be accredited). If you go for the Logic+, remember you can get an extra 3 years on your guarantee with the right installer!
Always get 2 – 3 quotes to ensure you’re getting a good deal on your new Ideal boiler. And remember, if a good boiler is fitted correctly, and the central heating system flushed first with a good filter to boot, it should last you a good 13 – 15 years. (As long as you service it, that is!)
