Are you in need of a boiler repair company in Edinburgh?
When you’re left with no heating or hot water, it can be stressful enough without adding on the extra hassle of finding the right company to repair your boiler. Most of my customers just want to go back to ‘service as normal’ as quickly as possible – and I don’t blame them.
However, it’s also incredibly important to pick a heating engineer with the best knowledge and experience. In some cases, you may be better off waiting 24 hours for a company with expertise, rather than picking one that’s not quite up for the job.
As with all companies, there are times in the depth of winter when we cannot possibly accommodate all new customers, and recommend some of the companies mentioned below. On many occasions, they also do the same for us!
That’s why I thought I’d put together a list of five of the best boiler repair companies in Edinburgh, along with a bit about what each of them do – so you can get help when you’re in a bit of a pickle.
1. Contract Heating
Let’s start off our list with Contract Heating, one of the largest boiler repair and service companies in Edinburgh. They work as agents for many different boiler manufacturers, and therefore boast quite a large stock of parts for most popular boilers – this also means they have quite a high first visit fix rate.
These guys specialise in gas boilers for letting agents, and you may find (especially at peak times) they can get quite busy – however, it’s definitely worth giving them a ring.
2. Scott Findlay Plumbing and Heating
Established in Edinburgh for 25 years, Scott Findlay carries out boiler servicing and repairs, but as the name suggests, they also do a lot of plumbing work.
They have a great reputation and specialise in Worcester Bosch boilers – in fact, they are accredited installers of the brand, which means they’ve spent time at the Worcester Bosch factory and will be very well-versed in common faults and problems.
However, because this company are quite busy, they can be booked up to a month in advance, so it can occasionally be tricky to get hold of them if you’re a new customer and have an emergency on your hands.
3. Firstcall Home Assist
An all-trades company, Firstcall Home Assist are Worcester Bosch accredited installers. They carry out a lot of insurance work and are also on-hand for emergency contracts, as well as providing their own servicing and service contracts.
They cover a large area and do a lot of work with insurance companies, so if you ever had to claim on your insurance, it could be them seeing to the job!
4. Walker Gas Services
Specialising in services, repairs and boiler installations, Walker Gas Services also carry out insurance work and emergency call-outs. A lot of their work is on behalf of Homeserve (a national insurance-based heating service company) for boiler breakdowns and emergencies.
Because of their obligations to larger clients, you may not always be able to request an emergency call-out (for instance during peak months and busy periods), but it’s always worth checking!
5. TB Mackay Energy Services.
Specialists in heating and boilers for many years, TB Mackay Energy Services have now branched out and also seem to have ventured into building and renovations.
Saying that, they still provide boiler installations, emergency call-outs, servicing and service contracts – basically, all you really need. This is a very reputable company with a strong customer base – they also carry out service contracts for housing associations.
Conclusion
There we have it; five of the best boiler repair companies in Edinburgh, for those times when you’re in a bit of a pickle and need a reputable heating engineer you can trust. Most of these are companies we recommend to new customers at busy times where we can’t possibly see to their repairs.
Good luck with your boiler repairs – I’d also recommend bookmarking this blog post for future use!
