Boiler Scrappage Scheme Scotland
Scotland has one of the most ambitious CO2 emission reduction targets in the world. The installation of an efficient heating system is one effective way of reducing your household energy bills and CO2 emissions. There are currently an estimated 250,000 homes in Scotland that have boilers of the least efficient type (efficiency of less than 70%).
The Scottish Government ran the boiler scrappage scheme last financial year. Homeowners, on a first, come first served basis, could apply for a £400 grant towards the replacement of a working G rated boiler with an energy efficient model certified under the Energy Saving Recommended scheme.
There was further funding available for summer 2011.
The Government funded scrappage scheme has been a huge success. Although it had limited funding: and strict guidelines.
- The boiler if gas has to be permanent pilot
- If gas must be older than 10 years
- If oil must be more than 25 years old
- must be energy rating G or lower.
Due to this success and the benefits to consumer's Superwarm has partnered with Worcester Bosch and Vaillant to bring you the best deals on high efficiency A rated boilers. This means upgrading your G rated boiler to an A rated one, your household heating bill should drop by about 25% a saving on average of around £235 per year.
Also due to the high price of scrap metal, and the need to recycle, We can offer £400 scrappage allowance for your old boiler, cylinder, radiators and redundant pipe work. This is due to the fact it is cheaper to recycle copper than it is to mine new copper. Recycling 1 tonne of copper takes 15% of the energy it would take to mine and extract the same copper.
All this equates to you having a new energy efficient boiler, the old removed and recycled and
